Participation in the InfraBooster Programme

In 2023, a team form the Institute of Agriculture within the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, participated in the full cycle of the EIT-funded EIT InfraBooster programme. The programme was based on a comprehensive methodology developed by the University of Warsaw and enriched through extensive knowledge transfer and mentoring support offered by University of Warsaw in collaboration with the EIT Communities.

As a result of this participation, a new service named Seed quality control and plant health analysis was designed, developed, and successfully introduced to the market.

Additionally, the service basically included One Stop Shop Services (sampling, transport, analysis and recommendations), meaning that in only one place customers can get the full service they need for their crop, such as:

  • Seed quality analysis,
  • Serological detection of viruses, and
  • Molecular detection of viruses and virus-like organisms.

The service was successfully developed by the team:

  • Katerina Bandzo Oreshkovikj, PhD, Senior Research Associate
  • Marija Gjosheva Kovachevikj, PhD, Research Associate
  • Despina Popovska Stojanov, MSc, research assistant
  • Afrodite Ibushoska, MSc, Laboratory Technician

Our Team involvement included:

  • Participation in the EIT InfraBooster Foundation module, enhancing knowledge on research infrastructures (RIs) potential applications and analytical skills for evaluation and identification of the commercially viable RIs;
  • Participation in the in the EIT InfraBooster Practitioner module, which supported theend-to-end design of new services leveraging RIs at scientific institutions. Thisincluded: analyzing the unique capabilities of RIs, identifying potential industrialpartners, initiating industrial outreach, preparing and refining marketing materialsthat communicated key differentiators and client benefits, identifying potentialclients, and initiating the sales process. These activities were guided by tailoredindividual and team mentoring offered by University of Warsaw, and culminated inpresenting the service concept during the EIT InfraBooster demoday pitch finals. Thekey value proposition of the new service was also featured in the EIT InfraBoosterservices catalogue: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/a9e3db523b.html
