From 24 to 26 October a working visit was organized at the Institute of Fruit Research in Cacak, Republic of Serbia to deepen the scientific cooperation in the orcharding. Experiences about previous work and opportunities for future cooperation were exchanged. The results of the joint participation of these institutions in the project \"CherrySeRB\" financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, under the leadership of Sanja Radi\u010devic, PhD, senior research associate at the Institute of Fruit Research in Chachak, were discussed. Of particular importance are the results obtained from the tests of the Macedonian autochthonous cherry varieties from the Ohrid region, Dolga shishka and Ohridska crna. Some of these results have already been published and presented at prominent international scientific meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A visit to the Faculty of Agronomy in \u010ca\u010dak was also organized, where a meeting was held with the\nDean of the Faculty Prof. Tomo Milosevic, PhD, and Prof. Ivan Glisic, PhD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signing of a Memorandum for future cooperation was agreed with both institutions and the possibility of organizing study stays, professional trainings, joint projects and experiments was discussed. It has been agreed to plant two new demonstration plum plantations in the conditions of the Republic of Macedonia. The first one will cover different cultivation systems, and in the other experiment, the varieties of plums created at the Fruit esearch Institute in \u010ca\u010dak will be tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
