D-r Viktor Gjamovski

Full professor

Prof. Viktor Gjamovski PhD, graduated in 2000 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, at the University "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, and he received his master's degree at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, at the University "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, in 2007, on the topic: " Breeding of bitter almond ecotypes (Amygdalus communis var. Amara) as a rootstock for peach". He received his doctorate in 2011 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, under the supervision of University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje on the topic entitled: "Study of the influence of different low-growing rootstocks on the growth, yield and quality of the apples". Since 2007 is employed at the Agricultural Institute in Skopje, as a junior assistant at the Department of Fruit Growing at the Stone Fruit Division. After his master's degree in 2007 was selected as an assistant, and after his doctorate in 2011, he was selected as an assistant professor. In 2016, he was elected as an associate professor, and in 2021, as a full professor. In the period from 2012 to 2019 year he was the Head of the Institute's Department of Applied Activity, and from 2019 to today he is a director of the Institute.

Today prof. Gjamovski is a full professor in the Department of Fruit Growing.

Carries out scientific research in the fields of: fruit production, sustainable agriculture, plant genetic resources and adaptation of agriculture to climate changes.

He teaches the second cycle of studies in the subjects: Production practices and assessment of quality of organic production, Climatic variability and vulnerability of organic production, Agrobiodiversity and management of genetic resources.
