Prof. Aleksandar Markovski PhD, graduated in 1990 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food in Skopje, and received his master's degree in 1998, on the topic: "Biological characteristics of the Chinese date (Zyziphus jujuba Mill.) and selection of rootstocks for its propagation". He received his doctorate in 2008 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food in Skopje on the topic of title: "Production and quality properties of Chinese date seeds (Zyziphus jujuba Mill.)". Since 1995 is employed at the Agricultural Institute in Skopje, as a junior assistant in the Department of Fruit Growing, at the Division of Apple Fruits. After his master's degree in 1998 was selected as an assistant, and after his doctorate in 2008, he was selected as an assistant professor. In 2013, he was elected as an associate professor, and in 2018, as a full professor. In the period from 2018 to 2021 he was the Head of the Fruit Growing Department of the Institute of Agriculture.
Today prof. Markovski is a full professor in the Department of Fruit Growing.
Carries out scientific research in the fields of breeding and propagation of fruit species.
