Prof. Dobre Andov PhD, graduated in 1983 at the University of Ss. "Cyril and Methodius", Faculty of Agriculture Sciences and Food in Skopje, and a master's degree on the same University in 1987, on the topic: "Morphological-biological and chemical-technological properties of some varieties of rice grown as a first and second crop". He received his doctorate in 2003 at the University of Ss. "Cyril and Methodius", Faculty of Agriculture in Skopje on the topic: "Inheritance of the quantitative properties in the hybrids obtained with cyclic crossing in rice (Oryza sativa L.)". Since 1985 is employed at the Institute for Rice in Kočani, and since 1999 is employed at the Institute of Agriculture in Skopje, as a junior assistant in the Department of Cereal Crops. After his master's degree in 1999 year became an assistant, and after his doctorate in 2003, he was selected as a research associate. In 2008, he was elected as an associate professor, and in 2013, as a full professor and re-elected in 2018. In the period from 1993 to 1999 was the director of the Rice Institute in Kočani, and from 1999 to 2006 got the position of manager of the experimental production facility in Kočani. In the period from 2009 to 2017 was the head of the Cereal Crops Department, and since 2022 he has been the Head of the Department of Field crops.
Today prof. Andov is a full professor in the Department of Field Crops.
Carries out scientific research in the fields of genetics and plant breeding of cereals (rice and others).
