Oenology

Withing the framework of the educational activity of the second cycle of studies, the Institute of Agriculture organizes master studies in Oenology. This program covers various aspects of wine production, from the process of grape cultivation and harvesting to fermentation, aging, marketing and distribution of the final product.

Students from this study program explore topics such as:

Viticulture – Knowledge of different grape varieties, management practices of vine plantations and climate impact on soil and grape quality.
Oenology – Mastering the fermentation process, yeast selection, wine chemistry, distillation processes, barrel aging, wine blending techniques and quality control measures.
Business and marketing of wine – Research on business aspects of the wine industry, including marketing strategies, wine sales, distribution channels and the economy of wine production.
Tasting and sensory analysis of wine – Developing skills for sensory evaluation of wine quality, understanding taste profiles and familiarization with the sensory aspects of wine.

This study program has a practical aspect by allowing students to get hands-on experience of the entire wine production process, from grape to bottle.
