Laboratory for wine and spirit drinks

The laboratory for wine and spirit drinks operates within the Department of Oenology. It has been accredited by МКС EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and adheres to all resource and process requirements of the management system. It is authorised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy to control wine and alcoholic beverages for going into national and international circulation.

The laboratory has competent staff for management of laboratory activities, who acts impartially, works in accordance with the management system, has free access to regulatory and technical documents and has competences that are key for quality testing. The laboratory has its own area to carry out laboratory activities in working conditions that do not jeopardize the quality testing.

The laboratory for wine and spirit drinks is solidly equipped with the necessary measuring equipment and instruments and has all the necessary rooms. It has an FID gas chromatograph (flame ionization detector), gas and liquid chromatography instrumentation, a spectrophotometer, an alcohol distiller, an alcomate, analytical scales, an evaporator, centrifuge devices, a water bath, an ultrasonic spa, a digestor for solution preparation and other equipment and instruments essential for carrying out analyses. Measuring instruments are regularly calibrated in accredited calibration laboratories, ensuring high accuracy and precision in testing.

Testing methods are validated and appropriate for use. The testing quality is also ensured by assessing measurement indeterminacy, with the laboratory considering all contributions relevant to the method. Securing the validity of the results is also carried out through participation in PT schemes, both interlaboratory and intra-laboratory.
