Temjanika Conference 2025

The Institute of Agriculture - Skopje within the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, on November 27, 2024, in the premises of the M6 ​​Educational Center Skopje, traditionally held the third scientific conference entitled "Temjanika - Aroma and Identity", with the aim of sharing the latest scientific knowledge related to the Temjanika wine variety, which has been cultivated for many years both in Macedonia and in the region, as the main representative of the varieties from which the increasingly popular, aromatic muscat wines are obtained.

The conference speakers were prominent and proven scientific experts from the country and the region (Italy, Bulgaria and Serbia), in the field of viticulture and winemaking, who presented results from previous scientific research related to the Temjanika variety. The Conference was attended and participated by a large number of representatives from other scientific and educational institutions, from government institutions and from the wine-growing and winemaking sector.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by prof. Viktor Gjamovski, Director of the Institute of Agriculture - Skopje, and the first topic of the Scientific Conference entitled: “Genetic and ampelographic relationship of the Temjanika variety with the Muscat varieties – similarities and differences”, was spoken by prof. Klime Beleski, from the Institute of Agriculture - Skopje. Prof. Dragoslav Ivanisevic from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, spoke about Temjanika in the agro-ecological conditions of Serbia. Temjanika in the agro-ecological conditions of Bulgaria was presented by prof. Angel Ivanov from the Thracian University in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. The chemical composition and sensory analysis of wines from the Temjanika variety was presented by prof. Goran Milanov from the Institute of Agriculture - Skopje and finally dr. Raffaele Nieda from the Research Center of Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo from Rauscedo, Italy, explained the process of Clonal Selection of Moscato bianco in Italy.

The conference ended with a presentation and tasting of wines from the Temjanika variety produced by Macedonian wineries and wineries from the region.
