Visit of the 400-year-old grapevine in Slovenia – 21/10/2023

The director of the Institute of Agriculture in Skopje, Professor Viktor Gjamovski, PhD, visited the 400-year-old grapevine popularly known as Žametna črnina or Modra kavčina, which grows and is cultivated in front of the House of the old vine in Maribor, Republic of Slovenia. The director also a meeting with the retired Slovenian ambassador Mr. Milan Predan. During his tenure, this old variety was also planted in the courtyard of the Institute of Agriculture in Skopje together with the native Macedonian variety Stanushina, because of the friendly relations between Macedonia and Slovenia and the preservation and celebration of the common natural heritage.
